LEATHERFACE / HOT WATER MUSIC SPLIT AND SCREAM REUNION THIS SUNDAY IN HOLLYWOOD

LEATHERFACE / HOT WATER MUSIC SPLIT. The first time I saw Leatherface was @ St Andrews in College Park Maryland almost 10 years ago. This is the first time I have ever picked up any of their music. All of my friends were always playing them no matter what roadtrip or tour we were on. Honestly they remind me of Skrewdriver. HWM has been around forever, super great split on BYO. I picked this up for 7.99 @ TKO in HB.
Scream doing a reunion in LA??? Im seeing Ignite on Saturday and Scream on Sunday, Im stoked!

I RATHER SPEND MY MONEY ON RECORDS THAN BOOZE AND DRUGS!!!

So here's a few records I got this past week either by ebay, record store, mail order or at a show. Horror Show record I had but found this one for $3 so I couldn't let that one go. I love this band and have tried numerous times to win a test press of "our design" but have failed every time. The proclamation record was the only one I needed besides the test. I first found out about this band through Tre of Deathwish fame. He was the roadie for BANE and had these and "The Trust" 7"s with him so I grabbed both and loved both of them. The rest of the stuff most people know and I just love collecting records, but let it be know I also hear them a couple times, sometimes a bunch if its that good.

HIGH ON FIRE -- SNAKES FOR THE DIVINE

HIGH ON FIRE -- SNAKES FOR THE DIVINE. Picked this up this week at Amoeba for 22 bucks. Double lp 180 gram gatefold cover. Its great now that I pay more for vinyl then I ever have for a cd. Trust me I don't feel guilty when I now download albums off of the internet. --TP

DESCENDENTS -- EVERYTHING SUCKS

DESCENDENTS -- EVERYTHING SUCKS. Epitaph finally released this on color vinyl and are now sold out. There are only 500 pressed on white. I saw the Descendents twice in 1996 on this albums tour. They were great and the albums after this one are pretty horrible. My ex girlfriend swore she was the biggest fan and now come to think I don't think I ever heard her listen to them. Come to think of it she was pretty stupid.

BROTHERHOOD- TIL DEATH DO US PART!!!

What more can I say about this amazing Seattle Washington sxe band. I literally can not stop listening to the 7" and Lp, that's how good they are. I'm amazed more bands don't cover them instead of shitty bands like jesus jones. The shirt is a reprint but looks exactly like an OG shirt, which is awesome. I'm still missing some vinyl pressings so I gotta get a move on.

KILL YOUR IDOLS "THIS IS JUST AN BEGINING" LP ON GREEN VINYL MAILORDER PRESS LTD. TO 50

First I need to state that I love KYI, from the first time I picked up their 12" to the first time they came to play the west coast. I saw them all the time and also build a friendship with the members, the one's that stuck around at least. So I picked this one up on ebay, of course. So the listing says this is the mail order version ltd. to 50 copies which is awesome since I've never owned this.

76% UNCERTAIN "HUNKA HUNKA BURNING LOG" BLUE LP

Picked this up at amoeba today while hanging out with blacklisted. I use to have all of the different versions of this but never on BLUE vinyl so when I saw this I knew I had to get it, so I did. $20 is a good price for this and sure its not like the first lp but its still damn good.

TIME FLIES DEMO TAPE

What more can I say about this band, I love them(yes, in that way!) and have made it a mission to collect all the different versions of the demo. One is ltd. to 15 and another is ltd. to 50 I think, I need to check.

OVER MY DEAD BODY "SINK OR SWIM" LP

So again, when I went to Scott's house to pick up those pbp records I was also given 4 of these records, Over My Dead Body "sink or swim" on black vinyl with regular center labels limited to 25 copies. I heard not even the band has these, luck just seems to find me everywhere. Again, Thanks Scott and you will be rewarded for this.

PIECE BY PIECE "WRITTEN IN BLOOD"

Ok so Scott from Takeover Records/Old Guard Records said he had found some piece by piece records and a bunch of distro records in his closest and told me if I wanted this, of course I said "hell yeah". So I went to his house with a friend picked up about 16 of these bad puppies, took them home and upon further inspection I notice some were on green/gray mix, which I know this is the 4th pressing and last of these and all on gray, so I checked all of them and these 4 green/white/gray mixed one's came out of the bunch so of course I kept these. I feel so lucky, Thanks Scott.

SICK OF IT ALL -- ALLEYWAY CREW

SICK OF IT ALL -- ALLEYWAY CREW. THIS IS THE FOURTH PRESS OF THIS RECORD AND I HAVE ABOUT 15 COPIES OF IT. WHY SO MANY YOU ASK. I FOUND THEM IN THE 50 CENT DOLLAR BIN @ AMOEBA RECORDS. THIS WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND I WAS WITH DAVE FOSTER FROM BLACKLISTED AND COLD WORLD. HE HAD LIVED OUT HERE FOR A YEAR AND IS A HUGE SOIA FAN. WE FOUND THESE AND BOUGHT THEM ALL UP. WHY NOT ITS SUPER CHEAP. HE USED TO HAVE THIS SOIA SWEAT SHIRT CREW NECK WHICH HAD NO SLEEVES. HE WORE IT ONE TIME TO A MURPHY LAWS SHOW AND JIMMY WAS SWEATING THE SHIT OUT OF IT....SERIOUSLY.

more records that were recently sold on ebay

some more records of Steve's auction

MEGADETH -- KILLING IS MY BUSINESS

MEGADETH -- KILLING IS MY BUSINESS. Im not going to lie I used to hate Megadeth when I was a teenager. I was a huge Metallica fan and I always thought Megadeth was corny. I saw the 90's Misfits open up for them @ the 930 club in DC and became a fan. I saw their first lp upon my first visit at a new record store in HB called and owned by TKO records. My friend Dave was flown out here a few years back to help open it. TKO used to be in Richmond VA before relocating back to California. Its a great store and i picked up this lp for 14.99 which in my opinion is a steal. Mustaine at his best. Go to TKO you will not be disappointed, awesome record store with cheap prices.

MOUTHPIECE -- WHAT WAS SAID

MOUTHPIECE -- WHAT WAS SAID ON NEW AGE RECORDS. New Age records still have these in stock. THey said they have about a handful which still shocks me. In the 90's you either loved them or hated them. I wasnt too into the cover because I have no idea what it is suppose to be. There is an explanation on Double Cross about it and I still have no idea what it is suppose to be. Its too bad this was never pressed on color but it still holds up after all these years. I think Martin, Fat Rich and I have seen this band over 50 times live. I cant believe how much we traveled for them. But in my opinion this is one of the most important hardcore records to own and for 10 bucks its a steal. I ordered from new age and it took over a month to get it, funny how things still havent changed.

UNBROKEN -- LIFE LOVE REGRET

UNBROKEN -- LIFE LOVE REGRET I got this in a trade. I had one on blue that I picked up at a local DC record store called Smash. I never owned a black one so i got this plus the Ritual lp on black as well. Great records and amazing band from the 90's.

FROM ASHES RISE

From Ashes Rise. I picked this up at Dr Strange when we made a recent trip over to the inland empire. Great band with members of Tragedy. Havoc records put this out and did a top notch job. This is on black vinyl so im sure there are color versions out there. Hit me up if you want to sell it to me. I also heard From Ashes Rise played a show recently. Hopefully they will make it down here and play soon.

FUGAZI -- END NOTES

Fugazi -- End Notes on Dischord Records. I picked this up at amoeba for 5.99 on grey vinyl. this record came out when I was still living in dc. I was obsessed with Fugazi in High School. My friend Gabe Villimazar and I saw this band over a million times live. The only other band I have seen as much was Shelter. This is not their best record but a steal at 5.99.

GUNS N ROSES APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION

Gun N Roses -- Appetite For Destruction on Geffen. One of the perks of living in Los Angeles as oppose to Washington Dc is there a ton of music shops. I picked this up for 10 dollars at some hip hop store in Burbank. This is the original pressing of this record with the banned cover. When this record was released in 1987 i hated it. Metal and especially glam metal was the biggest thing ever. If you had long hair and showed up at a hardcore show you were the enemy. ha! Now since there is so much awful music out now i appreciate the stuff i didnt like when i was growing up. All of my friends in high school were metal heads and they loved this record. My cousin in New Jersey still listens to this on tape weekly. There is not one bad track on this record and Mr Brownstone and Welcome to the Jungle are still my favorite GNR tunes. Yes I have listened to their new record and i have no comment on it. Hopefully I will find it used on lp in the 99 cent bin.

RECORDS THAT WERE RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY

These were recently sold out of Steve Lookers personal collection. He was in Culture and Morning Again.

CRO MAGS -- AGE OF QUARREL DEMO 12"

I already own both 10" versions and the test pressing of this record. This looks like it is a bootleg version of the 10" and from my understanding the 10" was a bootleg version of the cassette. Supposedly there is only a 1000 of these pressed and its numbered and on white vinyl. The 12" looks great. I also have the cd version that Harley and Parris pressed up a few years back. This is my opinion is the Cro Mags best recording. My buddy Kurt picked this up in NYC for me. I also did see these at TKO in HB a few weeks back. Its funny now all I see at shows are Cro Mags and Integrity tshirts. I guess for good reason too.

CHARRED REMAINS AKA MAN IS THE BASTARD

I found this on ebay for 15 bucks due to the misspelling of the record. Members of Born Against and on Veriform Records. Bastard stills play and they did a few months ago in Hollywood. Great record but nearly impossible to find.

TURBONEGRO APOCALYPSEDUDES ON MANS RUINS

Turbonegro -- Apocalypsedudes on Mans Ruins Records. I saw this on the wall at Amoeba records in Hollywood for 50 bucks and bought it immediately. The first time i heard this band was on weekend tour with Time Flies in 1997. Keep in mind this was pre Bam Margera MTV's Jackass. This record has been pressed over a few labels but the Man Ruins pressing is nearly impossible to find. It is on pink vinyl as well.
