TKO Records Rule!

Daniel Rosen from Bitter End was out here this past weekend as well. We hung out did some record shopping @ TKO records in HB. TKO is one of the best record stores on the west coast. I hold it above Amoeba for punk / hardcore records. Daniel bought a ton of stuff. I just picked up a few random items like Faith No More earlier stuff. I used to think this record was the shit and upon listening to it i realize its just plain shit. I can see why Mike Patton is a better singer than Chuck Mosely. The first time I saw Faith No More was opening up for Billy Idol on the Charmed Life tour. I then saw them open up again for Gun's N Roses and Metallica in 1992. The last time I saw then was on the real thing tour 92 and Helmet opened up for them at the peppermint beach club in norfolk va near va beach. If you have hook ups for their show in Hollywood hit me up.
I picked up the latest H2O record that was released on bridge 9. Mark from TKO threw in some tapes with our purchases. All in all a great score.

The Infamous I HATE YOU LP ON DEAD BY 23 Records

Im typing this entry as I am watching the independent film on Netflix call "I NEED THAT RECORD". Check it out its pretty good. It talks about the death of the independent record store.
Dead by 23 was a fanzine that was done by the late Sean Mccabe of Ink and Dagger / Crud is a Cult etc. Robby Redcheeks started a record label and named it after the zine. Dead by 23 was the starting point for bands like This is Hell, Cold Word and Down To Nothing. This entry is for the infamous I HATE YOU discography lp. Im not going to get into the politics of the preorders. On the last POSI FEST 2005 Robby was selling the 40 lps that were not available for preorder. I actually bought my copy from Mike Rotting Out 3 years ago. The cover is silk screened with glow in the dark ink. I think there are only 125 pressed total of the lps.
When Robby and Ink and Dagger came out this past weekend, He gave me a copy of a swirl lp out of 10 and a test pressing of the lp. I was pretty stoked, stupidly I didnt know that all of the I HATE YOU songs were written about my buddy Chris. Maybe I just forgot ha! Annoyed Chris told me to get rid of those records or he would break them in half.
After a party in LA saturday night, Robby took pics of Chris past out on my couch with the records. He didnt know that these were taken. Chris T is an awesome dude and I HATE YOU was an awesome band. You can still get their discography from Deathwish Records.

ink and dagger repress on six feet under records LA show edition

Six Feet Under Records reraleased the original Ink and Dagger ep. It has the original labels on the repress. Robby Redcheeks silkscreened 60 covers for the show in LA this past weekend. These all sold out within 15 minutes. For 20 bucks you got a t shirt and the ep. The artwork is done by Linas Garsys. Now here is the kicker 4 of these have gold ink screened on the inside. Robby, Linas and Dave from Six Feet Under / Blacklisted got one. I got number 4.

Ink and Dagger @ 6th street warehouse Los Angeles, Ca 9/17/2010 part 2

The Forgetters

Take frontman Blake S from Jawbreaker, Jets To Brazil, etc and a few new musicians and you have The Forgetters. Pretty good for 4 songs. My only complaint is that it was pressed on 2 eps. I rather it was just pressed on a lp. Well it does come with a download code so that is a plus. If you like Blake's past bands you will def like this. I think they are touring here soon.
