SLAYER -- CHRIST ILLUSION ON RED VINYL. Ok I have seen 2 of versions of this record. This is the limited version with the Jesus Cover and on red vinyl. The regular version has a hand covered in blood on the cover. I am a huge Slayer fan and their last few albums have been pretty brutal. In fact in makes up for their Diabolus In Musica album, which is fucking horrible. Per Wiki pediaDepicting a mutilated Christ painted by longtime collaborator Larry Carroll, the album's graphic artwork courted controversy. An alternative cover was issued to conservative retailers who felt uncomfortable with the original. Lyrical themes, particularly in the song "Jihad" which describes the September 11 attacks from a terrorist perspective, outraged the Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum in India. As a result, all Indian stocks of the album were recalled and destroyed by EMI India.
I just saw Slayer recently perform on Jimmy Kimmel. 16 cabinets and 250 metalheads going nuts in a small venue on live television. The encore was the first 3 songs on Seasons in the Abyss.
